Are you a young aspiring graphic designer looking to build your portfolio? Well, here’s your chance!  We are looking for a new T Shirt design to represent Gully Bop, in return you will win a cash prize and your design will be featured on a limited edition Gully Bop’s Tshirt.  You will also gain exposure on the Gully Bop website and social media channels.

The Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 will be open for entries on June 1st (9am EST time), and will run until June 23rd 2019 (11:59pm EST time).  The best T Shirt design will be selected by the public, be featured on Gully Bop merchandise, receive a cash prize and get the opportunity to expose and promote their artistic talents.

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 is to give a young person (aged 21 and under), the opportunity to put their artistic talents onto international display.  Gully Bop and his management team decided this would be a good opportunity to offer a young person that chance. We are looking for your talent and creative visual expressions and are excited to see what these up-and-coming designers can come up with in their designs that will capture the true essence of Gully Bop!  The goal is simple: Create a T Shirt design that best represents Jamaica’s first dancehall internet viral star. ELIGIBILITY:

The Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 is open to aspiring graphic designers in Jamaica under the age of 21..  Contestants must reside in Jamaica and are only allowed to submit one original design.

Entries. Designs should not have been published on internet, social medias etc.

JUDGING

The Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 competition design entries are judged by public vote.  Public voting will begin on May 13th 2019 and will end June 30th 2019. The design with most votes (that meets all the entry requirements) will win.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Participation in the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019, which are final and binding. Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein in a timely manner.

ENTRY PERIOD:

The ENTRY PERIOD of the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 begins on May 13th, 2019 (9am EST time) and ends on June 23rd, 2019 (11:59pm EST time).

RIGHTS GRANTED:

Contestants will retain all rights to their original art design .The Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 shall have the right to reproduce and distribute to third parties limited edition (fewer than 1000 copies) merchandise of the winning entry.  

COPYRIGHT

Contestants will retain all rights to their original art. The Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 shall have an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, copy, exhibit, publicly display and distribute their submitted entry for any activity, reproduce and distribute to third parties that are associated or sponsored activities.

The Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 will notify specifically designers for other use where necessary and request a mutual agreement based on a written authorization. A fee or a royalty, as agreed with the designer or designers will be refund to the artwork owners. Designers are guaranteed the right to be credited every time their entry is used or published. The name and surname will be mentioned approximate to the used artwork.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CONTESTANTS:

You are only allowed to submit original unpublished works to the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019. Also, do NOT publish your submitted poster art on Facebook or other social media until after the winners are announced.

HOW TO TAKE PART

Fill in the Entry Form.

An entry form must completed for each design submitted.  You must include on the entry form your complete and accurate information, including your e-mail address, date of birth and phone number, and all other information requested.

To qualify, your submission must confirm the following specific Contest Rules:

  • Each entry must be an original unpublished work that you have created that does not include material in which a third party has intellectual property rights.
  • All information should be completed in English along with a title and a brief description of the poster/s you are submitting, and your biography, a maximum of 200 words.
  • You must be aged 21 or under
  • You must currently reside in Jamaica (ID proof may be required)

File Specifications.

The work should be designed:

  • Size/Resolution: 50cm x 70 cm (5906×8268 pixels), 300dpi
  • Orientation: Vertical (portrait) Only.

SUBMIT your design:

  • Size: 700×980 pixels.
  • Resolution: 72 dpi,
  • Color Mode: RGB,
  • File Formats Accepted: JPEG. PNG
  • The file should not exceed the 5mb.

Name your files.

IMPORTANT! Please name your design submissions as (firstname)-(last name)-for-GPTC. Those who will not be named as requested will be disqualified.

Number of Designs.

Contestants are allowed to submit one design entry.

Original unpublished work

Each entry must be an original unpublished work that you have created that does not include material in which a third party has intellectual property rights.

Each Entry must not, in the sole discretion of the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019, be obscene, indecent, offensive, violent, hateful, or libellous, or contain any other content otherwise inconsistent with the purposes of the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019.

Do NOT publish your submitted design until after the winners are announced.

In case we find your work published on Facebook, your portfolio or other social media your entry will be disqualified immediately.

Is there any registration fee?

No. Designs submitted for the Gully Bop T Shirt Design Contest 2019 are free to enter!

Are there restrictions?

Yes, you must be aged 21 or under and currently reside in Jamaica.  All other entries will be disregarded.

What are the design requirements?

Each entry must be an original unpublished work that you have created. It must not include material in which a third party has intellectual property rights. The designs must be portrait (vertical) formatted designs.  The design must not have been previously published on any social media channels.

What are the file specifications for the design upload?

For upload purpose the file must be:

  • Size: 5MB (maximum)
  • Resolution: 700×980 pixels, 72dpi
  • Color Space: (RGB)
  • File type: JPEG or PNG

Why do you require the original design should be created at 300dpi but you also request the file upload to the website should be 72 dpi?

We want you to design the original artwork at a printable resolution but send us smaller version for internet use.

How many designs can I enter in the contest?

Each contestant can make one design entry.

Can I submit a non-digital format i.e. painting or illustration, etc?

No, unfortunately we accept only digital files. Nevertheless, you can scan your painting, illustration, etc, as a high res (300dpi). The original painting should be at least 50x70cm.

Please find a professional shop to scan and capture the colors correct and at it’s actual size. Then please, follow the instructions as to how to submit the design.

When does the contest close?

The closing time for entries is on June 23rd 2019 (11;59pm EST time), followed by a final week of public voting the contest closes on June 30th 2019 (11;59pm EST time) and the winner will be announced July 1st 2019
